JD Terriela is the BME & Regulatory Specialist Intern at Occam Technology Group. He is a Senior at the University of South Florida earning his Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering in May 2020. JD currently works as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the USF Innovative Biomedical Instruments and Systems (IBIS) Lab working on developing microfluidic medical devices and supporting other research projects. He has gained a great amount of experience using CAD design and CFD simulations during this time.

Before joining Occam, JD worked for Heat Pipe Technology as a Mechanical Engineering Intern, working on designing production units in CAD and other various research. He also worked for Blackhagen Design as a Usability Engineering Intern, assisting with human factors studies. As the BME & Regulatory Specialist, JD provides QA and regulatory support with product and process validation. He also performs FMEA, risk assessment, and associated Quality System documentation.
