Occam was approached by the Department of Energy to help design an automated energy shutoff system. We teamed up with Case Western University and the US Department of Energy to develop an automated energy shutoff system for homes that would reduce energy use associated with heating and cooling homes and small businesses by 20%. We completed the design, prototyping, component sourcing, and hardware integration for the project using advanced engineering capabilities.
